Our dog-loving protagonists would find out that Storie was a former breeding dog that had been abandoned. Breeding dogs are dogs that are kept on hand purposely to breed puppies. These dogs are prized for their genetics and can cost quite a bit. Unfortunately, the older Storie had been abandoned by her prior owner with a litter of puppies still in her belly.
