Known as Augustus Gloop in the original film, Michael played the rich bratty kid who ended up blowing up like a giant blueberry balloon mid-story. Bollner played the role of the insatiable kid eating candy extremely well, and his German accent was authentic. He had to learn English for the film.

Today, Bollner has been living the life of a well-established accounting firm owner in Germany, although he had originally wanted to continue being an actor as a child.
